As the world’s leading smart electric scooter company, NIU’s presentation at EICMA raised the bar for all other two-wheeler companies. Despite the vast majority of manufacturers at EICMA who were focused on producing ICE motorcycles and two-wheelers, we continue to #MakeLifeElectric by detailing a 2022 lineup that includes a newelectric motorcycle, scooters, and micromobility vehicles for 2022.

We announced an unprecedented electric scooter, the MQi GT EVO, which perfectly blends performance and value to beat the electric- and gas-powered competition in the 125cc scooter market. We also provided more details on the highly anticipated RQi electric motorcycle, introducing a Sport version which will be available next year. Alongside upgrades to other beloved vehicles like the NQi GTS, we also announced upcoming kick scooter and e-bike products coming soon.

Keep reading for a complete list of the new products that we showed off at our EICMA 2021 booth.

NIU’s highly anticipated RQi electric motorcycle

Our much-hyped RQi electric motorcycle made an appearance at this year’s EICMA booth, along with more product details. At launch, we will release a Sport version of the motorcycle. The RQi Sport features:

  • 100km/h (62mph) top speed
  • Launch Mode for an instant acceleration boost
  • Up to 120km (74 mi.) range per charge
  • Dual 72V removable batteries, each with 36Ah capacity
  • 7500W max output
  • Fast charging capability
  • Customizable dashboard display faces
  • Red, silver, and green color options

Of course, the RQi also features NIU’s iconic halo light and distinct design language found on our electric scooters.

This is an important release for us as we continue to expand our lineup to include additional high performance vehicles. At €6,999 for Europe, the RQi Sport is an excellent choice for those who want the thrill of an electric motorcycle without the sticker shock.

NIU MQi GT EVO: A glimpse into the future of 125cc scooters

The industry-redefining MQi GT EVO

Despite the anticipation for the RQi, the real showstopper for many at the NIU EICMA booth was the newly announced MQi GT EVO.

This is NIU’s fastest ever electric scooter and beats everything else in the 125cc class of scooters, whether gas- or electric-powered. The MQi GT EVO features:

  • 100 km/h (62 mph) top speed
  • Up to 75 km (46 mi.) range per charge
  • Dual 72V removable batteries, each with 26Ah capacity
  • 6500W max output
  • Fast charging capability
  • Customizable dashboard display faces
  • Orange, white, gray, and black color options in a matte finish

The matte orange is a striking standout color option available only for the EVO, and is certain to turn some heads.

Perhaps the most important highlight for the EVO is the fact that this scooter is the perfect harmony between impressive performance and value, especially when compared to other modes of transport. Priced at €4,999 to start in the European market, and eligible in many countries for additional EV incentives and price reductions, we are offering top-level specs at a price that most can afford.

NIU’s latest foray into micromobility: the KQi2

After the successful launch of the KQi3 on Indiegogo, NIU solidified its authority in the micromobility space with our first kick scooter product. However, we haven’t rested on our laurels. At EICMA 2021, we announced the KQi2 and KQi3 Max kick scooters.

The KQi2 Pro features a more personalized design with:

  • Up to 40 km (24 mi.) of range per charge
  • 48V battery
  • 600W max output
  • Customizable deck grip tape
  • White and gray color options

The option to swap out deck grip tape on the KQi2 with different colors, patterns, and styles really sets this scooter apart from the pack.

On the higher end, we also shared a new version of the KQi3: the KQi3 Max. The Max will reset the standard for electric kick scooters, featuring:

  • 35km/h (21 mph) top speed, depending on the region
  • Up to 65 km (40 mi.) of range per charge
  • 48V battery
  • 900W max output
  • Self-healing pneumatic tires
  • Robust and highly durable build quality
  • Black or gray color options with red accent

The Max, besides being NIU’s most powerful long-range kick scooter, features self-healing pneumatic tires to set your mind at ease, even for scooter commuters who need a heavy-duty solution.

Both of these kick scooters display the same NIU style our riders love. Additionally, they integrate Bluetooth app connectivity to enable additional features, like a custom riding mode.

The 2022 version of the NQi GTS features an increased top speed of 80 km/h (50 mph) and up to 95 km (59 mi.) on the extended range variant. Also, it features two new colors, gloss black and matte gray, in addition to the white model with red striping.

Additionally, we announced the YQi, an exciting new gas/electric hybrid scooter, with the goal of transitioning more riders around the world toward electric vehicles. This “gateway scooter” combines a liquid-cooled 150cc engine with an electric motor to reach a top speed of 110km/h (68 mph) and a range of 250+ km (155+ mi.).
