Hooray for the Bay
Once conceived as a luxury item, E-Bikes are becoming a widely accepted form of transport in the San Francisco Bay area. Enthusiasts view them as an option for commuters or weekend warriors who want speed and distance with less effort required. In December, research from auditing firm Deloitte predicted that 130 million e-bikes will be sold internationally from 2020 to 2023.
Ikea Fleet
Australian e-truck builder SEA Electric has delivered an electric delivery truck to fleet service provider All Purpose Transport. The new truck will be making deliveries for IKEA in Queensland. SEA offers a range of 5 drivetrains for commercial vehicles from 3.5 tons to 27 tons GVM. The new IKEA e-truck is built on a Hino 917 glider, and features the SEA-Drive 120a power system.
Dude, Where’s my parking?
The furious reaction to a pilot project in 2019 in The Hague, Netherlands, has made something blatantly obvious: our love affection with the car is a deep one. Streets have been divided by residents removing car parking spaces and replacing them with other eco-friendly alternatives. Yet, public determination to continue remains incessant: “We can’t go on like this. Arrival
Hyundai Motor Company and Kia Motors Corporation have made a USD $111.65 million investment in Arrival, a little-known U.K. based start-up specializing in electric vehicles. According to Arrival, the investment values the company, established in 2015, at a whopping €3 billion. J.P. Morgan led the firm’s funding round and valuation.

Already an admirable figure for his charitable work, Bill Gates’ Microsoft is planning to become “carbon negative” by 2030, eventually removing more carbon from the environment than it emits. The company will also zero its emissions across its entire supply chain. “When it comes to carbon, neutrality is not enough. We have to get ourselves to net zero.” Brad Smith, Microsoft’s President, said on Thursday.
