Las Vegas, known for gambling, shopping, fine dining, entertainment, and nightlife, hosted its 184,000 attendees annual international technology tradeshow. We’ve picked out a few highlights from the ‘Internet Of Things’, to ‘automotive’ and start-ups.

  1. Byton’s Smart Intuitive Vehicle (SIV)

Chinese-based company Byton have reimagined the SUV by kitting its concept vehicle with incredible smart technology features. Using the open platform Byton Life, the SIV drives beyond autonomy by fully integrating Amazon’s Alexa, personalizing the driver’s digital experience.

 

  1. Pepsi and Tesla!

PepsiCo Inc, well known for its range of snacks and fizzy drinks, have preordered 100 all-electric, quad motor Tesla Semi trucks. Capable of traveling 500 miles on a single charge, Tesla trucks will add to Pepsi’s US fleet system to distribute more manufactured products to retail stores.

 

  1. The CES 2018 Innovation Award goes to…

BOSCH! Focusing on smart solutions for connected cities, Bosch’s ‘Climo’ micro-climate monitoring hardware provides an innovative solution to measure air quality. The Climo uses sensors, software, and services in parallel to give cities the necessary data to tackle air pollutants.

 

  1. Connected Emergency Vehicles

FirstNet are a public-private partnership that dedicates itself to the improvement of public safety and security. By creating a wireless network within urban ecosystems, smart technology will modernize public safety communications to better connect the city.

 

  1. Pizza delivery

If you’ve watch Black Mirror, you may recall an episode where there is a self-driving pizza-delivery vehicle. Well, Pizza Hut and Toyota have unveiled their fully autonomous pizza delivery concept vehicle, e-Palette, at CES. In Toyota, we crust!
